What does an IEP Advocate do?

The IEP process can be exceptionally daunting for parents, involving navigating a school system, deciphering "IEP speak," and determining the appropriateness and availability of services for your child in the complex world of Special Education. We work closely with parents to help them assert their rights throughout the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process and make informed decisions about their child's education. We provide guidance and support to help parents understand how to advocate effectively for their child. IEP Advocates are not lawyers, but are individuals with expertise to help guide you through the process.

Testimonials

  • “Before Asterisk Learning, I felt completely overwhelmed by the special education process. There were so many acronyms, forms, and meetings that I didn’t understand. Asterisk broke it all down step by step and gave me the confidence to advocate for my child. I finally feel like I know what’s going on—and that my voice matters.”
